Bold colorful interiors feature "Egyptian keyhole" trim, high ceilings, and oak floors in the common areas that are furnished with several Stickley and eclectic pieces, oriental rugs, original artwork and plenty of books, puzzles and games. All five bedrooms have a private bath. "The Annex" has more of a cottage-style feel and is located in the old servants quarters.
Local, farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients are used to prepare our full breakfasts, served every morning. In addition, we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. We are members of the Sweet Land Farm CSA and frequently visit Ithaca's Farmers Market and GreenStar Cooperative Market. We are also members of the Fingers Lakes Culinary Bounty and part of their efforts to develop regional agri-tourism trails. Deirdre is manager of the Trumansburg Farmers Market, which runs between mid-June through October on Wednesdays from 4pm - 7pm. Trained in horticulture and landscape architecture, her perennial gardens are a work in progress and supply fresh cut flowers for the house; guided garden tours are available. With over forty years of living, working, and playing within the Finger Lakes region, Deirdre also custom-plans guided bus tour itineraries for groups of 6-12.

It is surrounded by the breath-taking Taughannock Falls State Park, the falls being just a short hike from the inn. Overnight guests enjoy an expanded continental breakfast included in their nightly rate. There are five buildings on the property that collectively make up the inn. The original building, a Victorian mansion, was built in 1873 by John and Molly Jones of Philadelphia as their summer home. Many of the lavish furnishings that he brought with him are still in use today. The inn has five rooms on the second floor, and a 150-seat restaurant on the first floor. None of the rooms in the inn have TV's, but they all have telephones.
All of the guesthouse rooms have TVs, telephones, and most of them have coffee makers, refrigerators, microwaves, and some have DVD players. The newest guesthouse is the Edgewood guest house. It sits on a hill that overlooks Cayuga Lake, and all of its 10 rooms have beautiful views of the lake. Six of the rooms are outfitted with queen beds, and the others have king beds and jacuzzis from which guests can see the lake!
The Lakeview guest house is located near Edgewood and has a 2 bedroom suite and a one bedroom suite. These suites can be rented out separately or opened up and rented as the whole house. These suites have gorgeous views of the lake.
The Hillside guesthouse is the owner's private residence, with a separate wing that houses 2 guestrooms in it. The rooms have queen beds and private baths. The Parkview guesthouse has 3 guestrooms; they all have king beds and jacuzzis.
The 150 seat restaurant overlooks the lake and offers a wide variety of American cuisine. For the price of an entree, a guest gets an appetizer, salad or sorbet, the entree, and dessert. Just outside the restaurant is a beautiful garden that has a lake view and several tables where guests may enjoy cocktails before dinner. The inn is seasonal; it is open from April through December. It has been an inn for over 60 years, and it has long been known as "the jewel of the Finger Lakes."
